OUR    STORY

Hi, my name is Junior, the Managing Director of JERK TOWN.

The JERK TOWN story began in Jamaica when I was nine years old. My friends and I would put our pocket money together to buy food to cook for each other, which is commonly known as "run a boat". As word spread about the great food we were producing, we began cooking for our families and extended friends. We quickly established a name for ourselves and started to cater for dances and events in the local community and then eventually to the wider community.

In 2000, I came to England. I met and married the love of my life, Natalya and formed Banton’s Family Kitchen. We began creating dishes for family and close friends and started fusing

Jamaican spices with other dishes. This period of experimentation gave birth to the now legendary ‘Jerk Wrap’.

Our first big venture was a small pitch at the Notting Hill Carnival. Spurred on by our success, we went on to trade at one of Liverpool's largest two day festivals - AfricaOye. We attended the Haringey Food Festival in 2008, which was an instant

success and even landed us in the Haringey newspaper.

As the company’s accomplishments grew, so did the team. With a new team came a new image and a name change. We carried on doing festivals and carnivals such as Under One Sky,Jerk Festival, Camden Festival and then a big pitch at Notting Hill Carnival on the East row for three years. When we weren’t doing festivals we could be found at Acton Market. After a few years we went onto The Red Cow Pub. JERK TOWN can now be found at Maidenhead Market. Our loyal and adoring customers began requesting for us to do private events and functions.

JERK TOWN CATERINGhas established itself as one of London and Berkshire’s most sought after Caribbean Music Film set and Tv BBQ caterers. . We bring our own unique brand of carnival atmosphere to Music, Film, Tv sets, corporate events or corporate occasion, launch party functions and all events.
